How it works and when to use it

You can apply the tip before tax (on subtotal) or after tax (on total), depending on local customs.

Rounding per person or total makes cash payments easier and avoids stray cents.
Comparison mode shows two scenarios (A and B) side by side to visualize the difference in tip and per‑person amount.

- Tax = Bill × (rate/100)
- Base for tip = (Before tax) Bill, (After tax) Bill + Tax
- Tip = Base × (percent/100)
- Total = Bill + Tax + Tip
- Per person = Total ÷ People
- Per‑person rounding: round ‘Per person’ to 2 decimals, then Total = Per person × People (tip is adjusted)
- Total rounding: round ‘Total’ to 2 decimals and adjust tip accordingly
